History

Company founder Max Reuss

Max Reuss founded model and mould manufacturer M.Reuss GmbH in 1948, after he had spent a few years training and working at Sachs as a model manufacturer. His first apprentice was his own son Manfred, who completed his master craftsman diploma in 1963.

After he had built the first workshop at Bamberger Straße 32 in 1966, Manfred Reuss took over the company in 1970. Another model manufacturing business in Kitzingen was acquired in 1977. New investments in CAD/CAM technology meant the new plant building was constructed in 1986 over 1800 m2, in which the two model manufacturing businesses were combined.

1989 saw Matthias Reuss (on left in picture) join M.REUSS GmbH, and in 1997 he completed the master craftsman diploma with the best result in the Southern Germany region. The second son Markus Reuss (on right in picture) joined the company as a graduate mechanical engineer. In 1997, investments in larger CNC machines meant the workshop at Industriestraße 8 was expanded from 1800 to 2800 m2.

Today, M.Reuss GmbH has a workforce of more than 50 employees and has made a name for itself as a training company. Now the tradition-rich family-run business is regarded as a successful Industry 4.0 company.
